Han River Swimming Pools: Too Hot in Seoul? Cool Off Here!
As a Korean, I honestly wouldn’t recommend visiting Korea during the summer. It can be extremely hot and humid. But if you happen to be in Korea between June and August and are looking for a way to cool off in the heart of Seoul rather than at the beach, these pools are the perfect choice.
Some are great for families with children, while others let you enjoy a night swim and Seoul’s city lights at night. Keep scrolling to find the Han River swimming pool that suits you best.
Han River Swimming Pools: Locations, Hours, and Fees (2026 Official Guide)
- Operating Period: June 19 (Fri) – August 30 (Sun), 2026 (Open daily during this period).
- Daytime Hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Water activities end 30 minutes before closing).
- Nighttime Hours: 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Starts from July 3).
- Note: Yanghwa and Gwangnaru locations do NOT offer nighttime hours.
- Sunbeds: Available to rent for ₩10,000
- Lockers: Available for an additional fee
- Changing Rooms: Separate for men and women. Hair dryers are not available.
- Outdoor Showers: All shower facilities are located outdoors. Shampoo and soap are not permitted.
- Weather Note: Operations may pause during heavy rain or facility maintenance.
- Food & Drinks: A convenience store and snack bar are available inside the swimming pool. Homemade food in reusable containers is allowed. Alcohol and food deliveries are not permitted.

- Free Entry: Children under 6 years enter for free (Physical supporting documents required; screenshots or photos are NOT accepted).
- Ticket Purchase: No advance reservation is required. Simply purchase your ticket at the on-site ticket booth using cash or a major international credit card (Visa/Mastercard). If you’re visiting on a weekend or during peak season, arriving around 9:00 AM is recommended to avoid long lines.
Swimming Pool
Ttukseom Swimming Pool 🌙 Night Swimming
Located just 200 meters (about a 5-minute walk) from Jayang (Ttukseom Hangang Park) Station (Line 7), Exit 2. The facility includes an adult pool (up to 1.2 m deep), a children’s pool (0.6 m), a toddler pool (0.4 m), and a 1.0 m-deep Lazy River. Ttukseom is the only Han River swimming pool with a Lazy River.
Yeouido Swimming Pool 🌙 Night Swimming
Located 883 meters (about an 11-minute walk) from National Assembly Station (Line 9), Exit 1. Yeouido Swimming Pool features an adult pool (1.2 m deep), a children’s pool (0.6 m), and a toddler pool (0.4 m).
🎧 2026 Summer Night DJ Party
During the summer season, Yeouido Swimming Pool hosts the Han River Splash Show, featuring live DJ performances every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from July 24 to August 30. The event runs from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, making it a great way to enjoy music while cooling off under the Seoul night sky. (※ Free for all Swimming pool visitors. No extra charge.)
Water Playground
Nanji Water Playground 🌙 Night Swimming
Nanji Water Playground features an infinity pool with stunning views of the Han River. Designed for families with children aged 5 to 8, the pool gradually increases in depth to a maximum of 1.0 meter. You can also enjoy a musical fountain show set against the Han River.
The main drawback is accessibility. Nanji Water Playground is not easy to reach by subway or bus, so most Korean visitors come by car. The nearest subway station is World Cup Stadium Station (Line 6), but it is about 3 km away—a roughly 40-minute walk from Exit 1. Taking a taxi from the station is the more convenient option and costs around ₩10,000.
🎧 2026 Han River Splash Show
Starting August 8, 2026, Nanji Water Playground will also host the Han River Splash Show. Live DJ performances take place every Saturday from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, offering a fun summer evening experience with the Han River as the backdrop. (※ Free for all Swimming pool visitors. No extra charge.)
Yanghwa Water Playground
Yanghwa Water Playground has a 0.8 m-deep pool that is ideal for children. Located next to an ecological park, it offers a nature-friendly setting with a small stream and other water features. The playground is about a 20-minute walk from Seonyudo Station (Line 9), Exit 2.
Compared with the other Han River swimming pools and water playgrounds, Yanghwa Water Playground is generally less crowded, making it a great place to relax.
Jamsil Water Playground 🌙 Night Swimming
Wonder Pool features an infinity-style edge and reaches a maximum depth of 1.0 m, while Joy Pool gradually becomes deeper toward the center, with a maximum depth of 0.6 m. There is also a shallow 0.3 m toddler pool, a natural-style stream for foot soaking, a sand playground, grassy rest areas, and a forest walking trail. After sunset, visitors can stroll along the Water Light Path, beautifully illuminated with colorful lights.
Jamsil Water Playground also offers dedicated family changing rooms, making it especially convenient for families with young children.
Many visitors recommend Jamsil Water Playground for families with young children. Its spacious grassy areas and relaxing atmosphere also make it a popular spot for sunbathing.
Jamsil Water Playground is about a 15-minute walk from Jamsilsaenae Station (Line 2), Exit 7.
Gwangnaru Water Playground
Gwangnaru Water Playground was completely renovated in 2026, offering clean and modern facilities. It features a family pool with a maximum depth of 1.0 m and a separate toddler pool with a depth of 0.3 m. Dedicated family changing rooms are also available, making it especially convenient for families with young children. Although it is located within Hangang Park, the Han River itself is not visible from the playground.
Many local visitors recommend it for families with children, thanks to its large splash playground, floor fountains, and barbecue facilities. However, adults visiting without children may prefer one of the Han River swimming pools instead. Gwangnaru Water Playground is about a 20-minute walk from Amsa Station (Line 8), Exit 3, or a 25-minute walk from Cheonho Station (Line 5), Exit 2.
